Frédéric Joliot / Otto Hahn Summer School , Cadarache August 2008
by Mr Nick Watkins @ 29/03/2007 16:41:52
The BNES are intending to offer partial sponsorship for up to two attendees at the Frédéric Joliot / Otto Hahn Summer School , Cadarache August 2008.
bnes is committed to bringing you uptodate, relevant information concerning the nuclear energy industry. With this in mind we have placed
Frédéric Joliot / Otto Hahn Summer School on Nuclear Reactors: Physics, Fuels and Systems Cadarache, France – August 20 - 29, 2008
These highly successful Summer Schools have run since ~1995
2008 Topic: “The Role of Experiments in Nuclear Reactor Simulation and Analysis”
(NB Applications close 9th May)
For more information see: http://www.cad.cea.fr/fjoh
Direct applications by individuals to participate in the Summer School are, of course, possible and are, indeed, encouraged; however it has been decided that the BNES Education and Training Committee may consider partial sponsorship for 1 or 2 attendees in 2008.
The opportunity to receive sponsorship to attend the Summer School arises because of BNES support for Knowledge and Research Networks that aim to encourage Education and Training in the community on Nuclear Energy related topics.
This networking output is very important to BNES and will strongly influence the choice of recipients when we receive their applications.
In particular, the sponsorship is conditional on any recipient agreeing to contribute to an appropriate BNES sponsored event (for example UNTF), activity or publication in order to make a presentation to advise others on the information and experience gained.
Sponsorship is at the level of £500 per person to attend the Summer School, with a further sum of up to £250 to assist in the attendance at the later BNES sponsored meeting.
To apply for this BNES E&T sponsorship please send:
- a CV
- a statement arguing why you should be sponsored.
- information on other financial support being provided by your own institution/employer
- a statement from your manager/academic supervisor why attendance at the Summer School would be beneficial.
Send this package to Mark Askew (m.askew@inuce.org.uk) By 5pm on 18th April 2008
